# Connect your anime library

> Use Anilife without an account or connect AniList or MyAnimeList to synchronise lists and watched-episode progress across devices.

Anilife works without an Anilife account. A local library and watch progress stay on the device, or you can connect AniList or MyAnimeList as the active list service.

## Connect a list service

**1. Open account settings**

Open **Settings**, then choose **Accounts & sync**.

**2. Choose a service**

Select **AniList** or **MyAnimeList** and complete its sign-in flow. Signing in to the other service switches the active list service.

**3. Choose what synchronises**

Enable **Sync episode progress** to update watched episodes during playback. Enable **Sync watchlist with Planning** to import Planning and add new saves without replacing progress.

MyAnimeList users can also choose which tags appear as lists. The available row appears after MyAnimeList is connected.

## Link a television

On a phone, **Settings → Accounts & sync → Link a TV** starts the pairing flow. Follow the code and confirmation shown by the phone and TV. Pair only devices you control and cancel if the code does not match.

## Import and export

The Data settings include **Import MyAnimeList XML** and **Export MyAnimeList XML**. An import adds matched titles without silently replacing existing progress. Keep the original export until you have reviewed the result.

> Discord is separate from list sync. Connecting it enables rich presence only. Anilife does not request access to your messages or servers for this feature.
